Pete Salazar, 86, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Pete was born on August 1, 1939, in Phoenix, Arizona. A hardworking and dedicated man, he spent much of his life in the construction industry as a union tile contractor. He proudly owned and operated his tile business from 1971 to 2002, completing commercial and residential tile work throughout the Valley. Pete built a reputation for his strong work ethic, craftsmanship, and integrity. He believed in providing for his family and took great pride in the work of his hands.
Pete shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Brenda Salazar, with whom he was married for 69 years. Together they built a strong family and a lifetime of memories.
Above all else, Pete was a devoted family man and the proud patriarch of our family. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who valued time with his family and the traditions they shared. He was known for his strength, guidance, and the example he set for those around him.
Pete is survived by his wife Brenda Salazar; his children Peter Salazar Jr., Kathy Salazar-Urias (Gabe), Janet Balingit (Scott), Tim Salazar (Gena), and Mary Salazar; along with 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom will continue to carry his legacy forward.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at St. Mary’s Basilica, 231 N. 3rd St., Phoenix, Arizona, a Viewing will begin at 9:00 AM the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St., Phoenix, Arizona, with a reception afterward at St. Mary’s Hall.
Pete will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for his family will live on in the many lives he touched.
