Peter Carriell

February 10, 1937 – October 22, 2025

Peter Carriell was the quintessential husband, father, grandfather, and devoted Catholic whose life was richly woven with faith, family, and a passionate love for the game of golf.

Peter was born in Santiago, Chile, on February 10, 1937. His love for golf was discovered at an early age and would ultimately be the reason he found the love of his life. As a PGA golf professional, he traveled the world, sharing his talents and bringing joy to many. And it was on a golf course in Chile that God brought him the greatest blessing of his life, Jane Marie. He loved to tell the story of how he spotted a beautiful woman across the course and said to his friends, “That’s the woman I am going to marry.”

Their love led him to America, where they settled in a home nestled below Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley, Arizona. It was there that they raised their three beautiful children; Paul, Lisa, and Tricia. It was there they also welcomed in each their grandchildren. First, his “little C” Rachel, followed by Al-E, Bella, Sophie, Aidan, Deuce, Natalie, and Ava - each one a precious light in his life.

Known for his strength, resilience - and impeccable golf game - Peter was a steady foundation for those around him. His faith and values guided him through all of life’s seasons, and his love for his family was evident in every word and deed.

Though we mourn his earthly passing, we rejoice knowing Peter is now at peace—reunited with his ‘little wife’ Jane, embraced in God’s everlasting arms, free from pain and resting in eternal joy.

May Peter’s life be a testament to the power of faith, family, and love. May we honor his legacy by living with the same devotion and kindness that so beautifully touched us all.

A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, October 27, 2025 at 4:00 pm at Brophy Chapel, 4701 N. Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85012.
