The family of Ramon A. Figueroa, 84, is sad to announce the peaceful passing of their beloved husband, father, and grandfather, on October 4, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on August 31, 1941, in the same city he called home throughout his life, Ramon’s journey was marked by dedication to family, service to country, and a strong work ethic that defined his character.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Ramon served from 1960 to 1963 and was stationed overseas in Korea. His time in the military remained a source of pride throughout his life, reflecting his deep sense of duty and commitment.
After completing his military service, Ramon returned to Phoenix where he built a life centered around hard work and devotion to those he loved. He worked as a certified welder for the City of Phoenix until his retirement. His craftsmanship and reliability earned him respect among colleagues and contributed meaningfully to the community he served.
Ramon was a devoted husband to his wife, Irene Figueroa. They were married for 65 years, while she was his "honey" from the day they met. Together they raised four children: Paula Regina Shepard (Eric), Raymond Anthony Figueroa (Lisa), Monica Michelle Pfile (late James Pfile), and Valerie Mona Lisa Brandemihl. His role as a father was one he embraced with love and steadfast support.
He was also a cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren: Derik Pfile, Victoria Shepard-Yockey (Levi), Britteny Shepard-Hernandez (Omar), Storm Brandemihl, Raine Brandemihl, Isabella Figueroa, and Francis Short (Nikki). His legacy continues through six great-grandchildren: Helena Hernandez, Natalie Short, Gabriella Short, Judah Short, Aaron Short, and Elijah Short. He had many nieces and nephews, whom he loved like his children.
Ramon carried the memory of three beloved grandsons—Domonick Shepard, Forrest Pfile, and Dylan Bartlett—who preceded him in death.
Throughout his life, Ramon exemplified strength, pride in his work, and unwavering dedication to those around him. He will forever be remembered for his hard work, love, and dedication to his family. May his memory bring comfort and joy to all who knew him.
