Robert F. Herbold, Jr., lovingly known as "DJ," passed away on April 26, 2025. Born in 1957, DJ was one of nine children and a beloved son to his mother, June. He is survived by his mother and his siblings Dan, Debby, Terry, Tina, and Jerry, who will forever cherish his memory.
DJ had a special connection with animals, a calm and nurturing soul that naturally drew them to him. His love for dogs was unmatched, and his faithful companions, Snoopy and Lucky, were truly his best friends. DJ also had a passion for fast cars—one of his favorites being a striking orange and black Dodge Charger Super Bee from the early 1970s. He found joy in the outdoors, loved gardening, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing games.
In the early 1980s, DJ’s life changed dramatically following a trucking accident that left him disabled and told he would never walk again. With remarkable determination and spirit, he defied the odds and regained the ability to walk for several years following intensive therapy. Though his health challenges persisted, DJ met each day with courage, kindness, and an unwavering love for life. DJ was a kind, caring soul whose infectious warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. His gentle spirit and loving heart will be missed deeply by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he brightened.
