Ronald Patrick Martinez

Ronald Patrick Martinez, 69, passed away on July 24, 2026. Born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1957, Ronald was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, a city he proudly called home throughout his life. As a teenager in the 1970s, Ronald was a shining star in the Arizona motocross scene. His love of riding remained an important part of his life, and he shared that passion with his family through countless rides, camping trips, and adventures together. Those experiences became treasured memories and reflected Ronald’s love of family, the outdoors, and time spent together.

Ronald was also a dedicated, longtime employee of the Arizona Gazette, where he spent many years as a valued and hardworking member of the newspaper community. A loving son, brother, cousin, and uncle, Ronald will forever be remembered for the memories he created with his family and friends and for the love he shared with those closest to him. His presence brought a sense of comfort and familiarity to those who knew him, and his smile and laughter had a way of filling the room. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Irene Martinez; his brother, Christopher Martinez; his maternal grandparents, Porfirio and Rita Aguirre; and his paternal grandparents, Paul and Mary Farmer. He is survived by his nephews, Nicholas Thomas Martinez and Cody Christopher Martinez; his sister-in-law, Cynthia Martinez; and his many loving cousins, all of whom will cherish his memory and carry his legacy forward.

A memorial service celebrating Ronald’s life will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 4:00p.m. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 East Indian School Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85018. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Ronald’s life.

Though Ronald is no longer with us, the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the memories he leaves behind will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
