Rosa Lucero, 70, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Rosa was born on May 18, 1956, in Ascensión, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Gilberto Ogaz-Montoya and Esther Navarez Zavala. She was raised with strong family values that shaped the way she lived her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her.
Rosa and her husband, Albino Lucero, shared 52 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on love, faith, and family. Thirty-six years ago, they made Arizona their home, where they continued to build a life filled with love and lasting memories.
She was a proud high school graduate in Mexico and later worked as a dedicated food service employee for the Creighton School District, where she was known for her caring nature and the positive impact she had on students and coworkers alike.
Rosa found joy in traveling, dancing, and listening to music. She cherished spending time with her family, and some of her happiest moments were those shared with the people she loved most. Her warmth, laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Rosa is survived by her loving husband, Albino Lucero; her children, Alicia Imlay and Albino Lucero Jr.; and her cherished grandchildren, Denny Martens Jr. (Marissa Alejandra Martens), Alondra Frances Wilson, and Vanessa Rose Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Andrew Ray Martens, who passed away at the age of 21, and her daughter Ida Lucero, who passed away at the age of 24.
Rosa will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the strength she showed throughout her life, and the unwavering devotion she had to her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
There will be a Viewing from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85018. The Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 9925 W. Thomas Road, Avondale, AZ 85392.
