Ruben G. Chavez, Jr.

Ruben Guadelupe Chavez, Jr., born March 4th 1927 in Bayard, Nebraska, died on December 11th 2023 in Tempe, Arizona. Ruben graduated school at the University of Denver, in Colorado.  He was married to Dora L. Chavez (deceased). He lived in California for many years before moving to Arizona in 1985 and settled in Tempe, AZ. He is survived by his three remaining daughters, Rosemary McCarthy of Irvine, CA,  Patricia Ramirez of Heperia, CA, and Loretta Zambrano of Tempe, AZ and preceded in death by daughter, Lorraine Mercado. Also surviving are grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3-5 P.M., Sunday, December 17th at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 18th, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 E. Libra Dr., Tempe.

Interment will take place on Tuesday, December 19th at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix at 10:00 A.M.
