Beverly Jean Strang Smith

Beverly Jean Strang Smith, born May 11, 1935, with great sadness died peacefully with her family by her side on September 25, 2018. Beverly was born in Wauwatosa, WI. She moved to Chicago as a young girl. She attended Amundsen High School, Northern Illinois Teachers College and University of Colorado Boulder and graduated with a B.A. in Education.

She was a Kappa Delta, an avid athlete. Hank and Bev were married on August 18, 1956, in Chicago, IL.

In August of 1976, the family moved to Phoenix, AZ.

Beverly taught high school physical education, volunteered at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital for 25+ years in the ER department; and she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; Carl and Ethel Strang, sisters; Carolyn Lucas and Roberta Rice, her husband; Henry (Hank) Smith and infant daughter; Sandy Smith.

Beverly is survived by her Daughters; Deanna Golden and Karen Smith, Son; Gary (Joy) Smith, Granddaughters; Jillian and Danielle Golden, and Grandson; Connor Smith.

A Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. – 11:45 A.M. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 with a Funeral Service starting at 11:45 A.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix.
