Todd Cruttenden, a lifelong Michigander with a deep love for the warmth of Arizona, passed away leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and unwavering love for his family.
Todd was the youngest child born to Weston and Beverly Cruttenden of Sylvan Lake, Michigan. Growing up alongside his older siblings, Lynn (Bill), Wendy (John), Colleen (Denny), Debby (Paul), Nannette (Butch), Susie and Mark, Todd stood out early for his remarkable intellect and curiosity—he was known to read the encyclopedia for fun. He was, as many would say, “Jeopardy smart,” with a brilliant mind matched only by his quick wit.
But what truly defined Todd was not just his intelligence—it was his heart. He was kind, sensitive, and endlessly giving. Todd had a way of making people feel comfortable the moment they met him, often drawing them in with his hilarious sense of humor and warm, genuine smile. He was truly a friend to all.
Todd worked hard throughout his life, including many years at Art Van Furniture, where fate led him to the love of his life, Cheryl. Their bond was deep and enduring, and their love remained one of the most important parts of his life. He was also a devoted father and family man who cherished his children and stepchildren.
Todd had a passion for the simple joys in life. He loved golf, pizza, and music—especially singing, which brought him great happiness. Whether on the golf course, sharing a meal, or breaking into song, Todd embraced life with enthusiasm and humor.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Cheryl; his parents, Beverly and Weston Cruttenden; his sister Suzie; his brother Mark; and his son Brenden.
Todd leaves behind his loving children, Alyssa and Jarrett; his stepsons Rickie and Jason; his stepdaughters Megan and Margo; his grandchildren, Jesse, Henryk, Sorcha, Jarrett, Jack, Brenden, Kingston and Bekan; as well as many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
Todd’s life was one filled with laughter, love, and connection. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the stories, songs, and smiles he leaves behind.
A celebration of life to come at a later date.
