Veronica Helen Rangel

Sep 15, 1959 — Jul 8, 2026

Veronica Helen (Felix) Rangel was born on September 15, 1959, in Phoenix, AZ, to the late Jesus and Julia Felix. She attended St. Gregory’s Catholic School, West High, Phoenix College, and earned her BA and Masters in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. Veronica dedicated her professional career to teaching school in the Alhambra Elementary School District and was very proud of all “her kids,” as she referred to past students.

Veronica resided in Phoenix, AZ her entire life and enjoyed it to the fullest. She took trips with friends, went out dancing, and savored dining out with friends and family. In June of 2004, she married Mike Rangel, and together, they were “the life of the party.” Veronica enjoyed being “Aunt Vee” to all of her nieces and nephews. She always supported her family with great enthusiasm, dedication, and kindness. She made friends easily and continued long time friendships with many along the way. She never forgot a birthday, and always made sure to check in whether it was via phone call, text messaging, or social media. The connections she made are invaluable and irreplaceable.

Listening to music, cheering on her favorite sports teams, and taking care of her beloved pets were pastimes she cherished. She was also very proud of her Hispanic heritage, and often reminisced fondly of her past and ancestry. Veronica will truly be missed, and all of her loved ones will feel a void upon her passing. However, her laughter and love will always be with us in our hearts.

Veronica was preceded in death by her husband, Mike, her parents, and her brother, Robert. She is survived by her sister, Christina Tolifson; nephews: Alan Tolifson (Rose) and Michael Tolifson; nieces: Sinae Christensen (Kelly) and Janet Porter (Sean); two great nieces: Julia and Brisa; three great nephews: Cole, Zachary, and Jacob; and many loving cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alhambra Foundation for the Future (AFF) (www.alhambraesd.org) and/or The Arizona Humane Society (www.azhumane.org).
