Virginia Tiffany Sweeney

On May 14,2026 Ginny arrived in Heaven. She passed away peacefully with family at her side. Born September 8,1935 to Virginia Webb and Herbert Chasse Tiffany, Ginny was the oldest of five children. She grew up in Phoenix on Pierson Street next to St. Francis Church and remained connected to childhood friends throughout her 90 years.

Ginny graduated from St. Francis grade school in 1949, Xavier College Preparatory in 1953, and she graduated from Arizona State University in 1957. On January 10,1959 Ginny married George Edward (Ed) Sweeney. They met while both attended ASU. Ginny raised two daughters and after teaching for 22 years she received her Masters in Supervision and Administration in 1988. She became an Elementary Administrator for the next 10 years. In retirement Ginny spent her time volunteering and spending time with family and friends. Ginny continued to correspond with several of her students throughout her lifetime.

In Heaven, she was greeted by her husband Ed, her parents, her brother Herb Tiffany and her sister Monnie Calfee. Ginny is survived by her siblings Mike Tiffany and Jane Tiffany Duffy; two devoted daughters, Tiffany Spillmann (Erich), Susie Corn (Billy); six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, sister-in-law Susie Sweeney Murphy and many nieces and nephews.
