Wendell Sabal

Wendell Sabal, a beacon of warmth and kindness, departed this world at the tender age of 51, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.  Known for his infectious smile and considerate nature, Wendell touched the lives of all who knew him.  His passion for life was evident in his love for biking, running, hiking, travel and lately motorcycle riding.

But above all, Wendell treasured the time spent with the “loves of his life” his beloved wife, Angel, and their son, Kevin. Their bond was a testament to the enduring power of love and family, unbreakable even in the face of adversity.

Born on August 27, 1972 in Cagayan De Oro City, Philippines to Myrna Ludena and Dr. Gerardo Sabal Jr.  He spent his early years in the home of his maternal grandparents. He moved to Chandler, Arizona in 1979 and attended St. Mary-Bashas Elementary then graduated from Seton Catholic High School. He eventually settled in Maricopa, Arizona with his wife and son.

Wendell’s departure leaves a void in the hearts of his loving family, who will deeply mourn his loss,  He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrna Ludena Sabal, and stepmother, Grace Gaston-Sabal.  He is survived by his devoted wife, Angel Sabal, their cherished son, Kevin Sabal, his loving father Gerardo Sabal, his sisters Sheryl Sabal and Rochelle Sabal, his brother Archie Sabal, his mother-in-law Marissa Gorospe Gustilo, his fathers-in-law Mayo Gustilo and Ricky Oposa, his sisters-in-law Claire Yap, Ana Tibajia and Imeelyn Zarzuela, his brothers-in-law Timothy Ryan, Nasos Papadopoulos, Jay Yap, Noel Tibajia and Bobby Zarzuela, his nephews and nieces Alex Ryan, Maddie Ryan, Aunika Zarzuela, Kendrew Zarzuela, Tatiana Papadopoulos, John Yap, Emily Zarzuela, Monica Tibajia, Nicholas Tibajia and Norman Tibajia.

Though Wendell may have left this world prematurely, his spirit will live on in the memories of those he touched, forever a source of inspiration and love.

Family and friends are invited to honor Wendell’s memory at the visitation and Rosary, to be held on Saturday, May 18th at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road in Phx, AZ 85018, from 1 PM to 3 PM followed by a Mass.
