William “Bill” E. Beck passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on April 8, 2026, at the age of 90. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering strength.
Born on September 8, 1935, in Bridgeport, Ohio, Bill was the beloved son of Leo and Edith Beck. He had a deep devotion to his family and took great pride in watching his children grow and build families of their own.
Bill honorably served four years in the United States Navy as a crew member aboard a PV-2 Harpoon sub-hunting aircraft. Following his military service, he dedicated 37 years to a career in the communications field, retiring from US West. He was known for his strong work ethic and his steadfast commitment to putting family first.
Bill cherished time spent with his children, especially during their younger years at the South Mountain Quarter Midget track. This experience sparked his lifelong love of NASCAR racing, which he continued to enjoy for many years.
He is survived by his children: Mike Beck; Doug (April) Beck; Jerry (Kristina) Beck; and Debra (Craig) Lamping; as well as seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
