My condolences to the Arellano Family and her husband! I knew Adela from our days at Ann Ott School. I’ve often thought and wondered what happened to the Arellano Family, since we used to be neighbors. I was sad to come across this article today.

We’ll always mourn the loss of our beloved Aunt Del. She and Rey were a pillar of strength for us, particularly after my mom’s stroke. Del would fix dinner for us weekly-for years, which was such a tremendous help at such a difficult time. Taking the time to visit my mom so often is something I will always appreciate and cherish. We had some great times, we laughed a lot. I will be grateful for her caring nature and support for the rest of my life.

Long before she passed, slowly, our long, funny and sometimes serious conversations had diminished down to a whisper. Once vivacious and strong, opionated, intelligent, humorous and beautiful, she slowly quieted; her voice, mind and body transformed and twisted. But her love and caring never stopped. She often conveyed her love for me and respect for Don but was especially interested in our three sons, always seeking details of all they did, good and bad. She delighted in all details of their lives’ and the twists and turns of their long elementary and teen aged years. Del was a kind and loving sister. I was lucky because I had a friend and sister in her and I hope I provided her wth love and some reassurance that things would be ok. I will always miss you Del. Thank you. Your sis, Maria
