OVANDO,

Leon J. Ovando, 83, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2012. Born January 31, 1929 in Littleton, New Hampshire, Leon spent 21 years in the United States Air Force serving his country. During that time, he was stationed in Germany for 13 years where he met his beloved wife, Christina. Upon retirement from the Air Force, Leon and Christina moved to Arizona where Leon began his second career in real estate. Leon was a well known Realtor in the East Valley for 30 years. He is survived by his wife Christina of 42 years, his son Michael Ovando, son Marcus Ovando (Dr. Edda Eliasson), daughter Natascha Ovando-Karadsheh (John Karadsheh), and his beloved grandchildren Anneliese Ovando, Roman Karadsheh, and Michelene Karadsheh. Services will be held Thursday, March 1st at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 4530 E. Gold Dust, Phoenix. The Visitation will be held from from 4:30pm-6:00pm followed by the Funeral Service at 6:00pm. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 2nd at 10am at Mountain View Cemetery, 7900 E. Main Street in Mesa.
