Tyson J. Passey

Tyson J. Passey passed away on January 24, 2023 in LaJolla, California surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 1, 1971 in Mesa, Arizona. Tyson graduated from Brophy College Preparatory in 1990 and went on to Gonzaga University in Spokane where he was on the crew team. After Gonzaga he came back to warm weather and attended Arizona State University and was an officer in Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Tyson moved to Chicago to pursue a degree in Kinesiology. Tyson had a love of exercise and wellness and found great pleasure in learning. He left Chicago and ended up pursuing another area of interest as a hairstylist and barber. He owned and operated TYSON an Urban Hair Lounge in San Diego.

Tyson is survived by his husband Jonathan Schneeweiss and his son Carter. Tyson is the son of David and Linda Passey from Mesa. He is survived by his brother Ryan (Sharlee) and his sister Corey Donboli and his beautiful dog Clifford. Tyson has many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also the grandson of the late John and Jeraldine Brown.

Tyson was extremely kind and caring and never met a stranger. He loved skiing, tennis, traveling abroad and going to their home in New York for summer months. He loved his son Carter and was an excellent father. He was a loyal family member who was always present and available to help when needed as a son, big brother and uncle.

A beautiful Mass was celebrated at the Brophy Chapel, followed by a gathering at his family home to celebrate with family and friends.

Tyson will be deeply missed and remembered as a truly wonderful, unique person.
