Pete M. Esparza entered into our Lord’s hands with his loving family at his side on November 12, 2008. He was born on April 22, 1932 in Phoenix, AZ. Dad retired from the City of Phoenix after 30 years. Dad served his country in the US Army Korean War and retired from the Army National Guard after 27 years at the rank of Sergeant. He is survived by his loving wife Velia of 53 years and his seven children; Yvonne, Pete Jr. Lupe, David Margaret, Robert Veronica, Rose Ann Salazar Steve, Olivia Salinas Paul, Sylvia Martinez Jose; 21 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; his 4 sisters; Inez Esparza, Lois Aguirre, Isabel Sakawatewa, Pauline Arredondo, and 3 brothers; Cayetano, Santiago and Francisco. Pete will be reunited with his parents Francisco and Francisca, sister Juanita Nunez. Dad you will always be in our hearts, we will never forget what a wonderful father you were, and a hard worker. You rest in peace. We love you so. Visitation will be Monday, November 17, 2008 from 5 – 8 P.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, with Rosary at 7 P.M. Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 P.M., on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at St. Mary’s Basilica Catholic Church, 231 N. 3rd Street, Phoenix. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
