It’s not possible that you are gone, dear friend! So much energy, creativity, integrity, and love for all things and all people. So many wonderful memories of working together. You have taught us so much. Thank you for the gifts you shared and for your downright honesty which helped us to grow. I’m so happy that you got to meet Bill and we will always remember our time on the reservation visiting you. Rest in peace!

    Gino, te amo!

It is with much sadness that I read of the passing of Fr Gino. The notice was in the bulletin of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Miami, AZ.

I worked on the San Carlos reservation and left just at the time Fr Gino arrived. Many years later I retired to Globe, AZ. I had occasion to go over to visit with Father. He was a gifted artist and brought his talent to be seen in the church. I enjoyed seeing him and his art work which he was very happy to share.

We have the most wonderful memories of Father Gino as he served as our parish priest at St. Ann’s in Spokane Washington. His artistic talents were displayed in decorating the Parish for Christmas and some of the dinners he prepared in our various homes. After the preparation was over Gino would go home before the food was served. He was a thoughtful joyous person who will remain in our memories for ever.

Our thoughts and prays are with his family which we are sure extends to every place in served. Bless you Father.

Milagro & I are so grateful to Gino for introducing us to each other during his farewell gathering after his last Mass at the Casa. A year later, Gino returned to officiate at our wedding at the Casa. He required that no pictures be taken during the wedding Mass. On occasion, a small group of Casa members would drive to San Carlos for the weekend to work with Gino on several projects he had going on. We will always remember him for his cheerful jolly laughter and that twinkle in his eye when he’d say something to catch you off guard. He was a gifted man with many talents; a warm heart; always willing to tell a story or two and a blessing to all those who were fortunale to have known him. – John and Milagro

More than just condolences, truly this will be the celebration of a man who was a servant of God. Though we never met him in person, we frequently met his spirit and un-boundless energy in the work he started and left for us to complete. We are proud to have been members of the community of St. Ann’s. Truly, serving in the St. Ann community was life changing. Blessings on you Padre Gino.

Gino was our prist at Saint Ann’s church in Spokane Washington. It was almost 30 years ago. He touched so many lives. He had so much energy. Always working on something worthwhile and encouraging us to do the same. He stretched us, and for the better. I am sad to know he has died. I will say a prayer for Gino and his family. Gino made the world a better place.

Father Gino was such a spiritual person, a finder of beauty even in the midst of hardship. His sermons spoke to me and strengthened my spirituality. I will miss his friendship, his compassion, his warmth, his artistry, his knowledge, and his humor. I will miss…him.

To his family, my prayers of peace.

Peace and Blessing of God’s Mercy be upon you all

My sincere condolences on the loss of Gino Piccoli, a good friar who gave me religious instruction in San Carlos, Az.. May God have mercy on his soul, forgive him for his short coming, make it easy for him in his grave, pour light on him, and on that Day grant him into paradise.

My Dad introduced Fr. Gino to my future husband and i in 1982 or 83. He presided over our Marriage vows in 1984. I am working on a book and so often have wanted to look him up. He came to mind today as his relevance in our lives came up in my writing. I am sad and happy as well, like all the saints triumphant, he is available to all of us in a way he wasn’t while residing here. Dave and I have 8 children. The first and last were miscarried and the first child we affectionately named Gino. We figured we probably couldn’t get by with Gino Mannino no matter how much we wanted to name a child that, if it had survived. God console all his family and friends in their grief.

Kind, intelligent, good-humored, wise, sensitive to the minds of others, witty – Father Gino was a complex man, for he had many talents. Working with him years ago at he Franciscan Communications Center in Los Angeles offered daily contact and recognition of his deep love for humankind and his even stronger commitment to the service of God.

Vale, Father Gino – Happily remembered friend.
