PITZEL, BERNARD HENRY

Bernie Pitzel

Bernard Henry Pitzel, the Golden Gloves champ, World War II Navy veteran from Hibbing, Minnesota rejoined Anita, his loving wife of 62 years, in Heaven on March 23, 2022. Their passionate romance that began at Hibbing High School now continues through eternity, “Bernie” was an inventor, electrical engineer, constant tinkerer and an avid golfer who was still playing at 92. He is survived by his loving sons Bernie & Steve, his sister Dorothy, daughter in laws Lisa and Nina, grandsons Nathan (Rachel), Trevor and Steffan (Ursa Eyer) granddaughter Victoria and great grandchildren Grayson, Tucker, Harper, Annabelle and Aurora along with a multitude of extended family members and friends. Bernie will be eternally missed but never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition NOCC https://ovarian.org/

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:00AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Avenue, Phoenix.

Burial to follow at the VA National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix at 1:30PM.
