QUIHUIS, DELLA CRUZ
Della Cruz Quihuis, beloved wife of Lionel V. Quihuis Jr., dear mother of Lionel V Quihuis III, Stephen C. Quihuis (Ana) and Joseph C. Quihuis (Kim), blessed grandmother to three granddaughters and three grandsons and 2 great granddaughters, entered eternal rest on June 17, 2021.
Della was born on January 29, 1944 in Phoenix, AZ to Albert and Teresa Cruz, sisters, Frances, Linda, Suzie and brother Albert Jr.; she also had many nieces and nephews. She loved spending time with her family and friends, she especially loved cooking for all of them. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and working on projects with them, she loved to see them grow and flourish.
As her 3 boys were growing up, she was always supportive of them at their sporting events and was their biggest cheerleader in the stands rooting for them. She was a HUGE AZ Cardinals fan, she especially loved Larry Fitzgerald! She & Lionel were avid season ticket holders and loved to tailgate with family and friends. She was also a Phoenix Suns fan, and enjoyed watching them play.
She loved going to the Casino, especially Lone Butte to hear Marty and the Party play on Friday nights; her and Lionel would meet up with family and friends and they even met new friends there and would have a great time. But her favorite past time was sitting at a poker machine hoping for a Royal Flush.
She loved listening to Mexican music and had so many favorite artists, she would always make song requests to her sons when they got together so she could sing along. She also loved to hear Mariachi’s play.
Della was very talented when it came to making crafts, such as wreaths, flowers arrangements and just decorating in general. Her specialty was making gorgeous Christmas wreaths, she could make something so beautiful out of nothing, she really had an expert eye for this.
Every year during Christmas, she looked forward to gathering her family to make dozens of her delicious tamales; the one requirement she had while we were making them was playing Mexican music. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, as she was loved very much.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 10:00 – 10:30 AM at St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church, 1030 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, with Rosary Prayers at 10:30 AM, the Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at St. Frances Catholic Cemetery.
Our hearts and prayers go out to your whole family. May God bless you and keep you.

My heart truly goes out to the entire family. To loose a spouse, mother, grandmother, aunt and all the beautiful things Della meant to everyone is a great loss. One thing I can say for sure, in Spirit she is always with you and she will send you signs to let you know she is with you always. Listens for songs, or little things that would put a smile on your face and know it’s her. God bless you.
Our dear loving friend, Della, you will be forever missed by us, Ruben and Toni. Our friendship goes back many years with lots of fun and laughter. The card parties that we had at each others homes, going to see Marty and the party at the casino, the dances at Post 41, and the trips we shared together. May you Rest In Paradise my sweet and loving friend. Our deepest condolences go out to all the family.

We were beyond sad to hear the news of Mrs. Quhuis passing. She was always so sweet to me. She reminded me of my mom, which is the highest compliment that I could give anyone. I loved when she would hold my hand and call me mija when I would see her. Our heart breaks for the entire Quihuis Family. Praying that you will find comfort in knowing how much you are all loved.

Mr. Quihuis, Lionel, Stephen and Joe my most sincere and deepest condolences for this tremendous loss. Mrs. Quihuis will always hold a very special place in my heart! For eight years of my life she was like a mother to me, always kind, encouraging, supportive, fun and generous! I have many great memories of the times we shared and the things I learned from her. I enjoyed her company, her cooking, crafting together and admired the love she had for her boys! We shared the love for sports and supporting home teams… high school and college football, the Phoenix Suns and the Arizona Cardinals. Without a doubt, she was an exceptional blessing to those who’s lives she touched. May you rest in eternal peace Mrs. Quihuis. ❤️ You are in my thoughts and prayers.
