RAWLINS, MARGUERITE (MARGIE)

January 8, 2015 Leave A Condolence

RAWLINS,

Marguerite (Margie) Rawlins, 94, on Monday, January 5, 2015, passed into Eternal Life surrounded by her loving family. Margie is survived by her children, Bob, Kathy, Jan, Dolores, and Timothy; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren. Joseph, her loving husband of 37 years, with whom she enjoyed dancing and league bowling, preceded her in death. An Arizona native raised in Phoenix, the 13th child of Eduardo and Placida, Margie graduated St. Mary’s High School in 1940. Margie and Joseph raised their five children as members of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish where she continued as a member for over 66 years. Margie was affiliated with Our Lady of Mt. Carmel’s branch of the Ladies Sodality, was a Eucharistic Minister, and served in various church-related activities as well as the Girl and Boy Scouts. She was a bookkeeper and retired from JC Penney. She then delighted in traveling around the US to visit her extended family. Margie was an admirer of nature and passionate about making life enjoyable for others. She was loved and appreciated as a sweet, generous person with a quick wit and a dry sense of humor. Visitation is Sunday, January 11, 2015, at 4:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at 5:00 pm, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road. Funeral Mass is Monday, January 12, at 1:30 pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Road in Phoenix, followed by interment at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix, with a reception at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Marge 17 brought companionship, and joy, especially through shared Dback games, with our mother. We remember her with a smile.
