Carol Relyea 2

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Carol Relyea, our loving and devoted mother and dear friend to all whose lives she touched, on March 20, 2023 from Alzheimers Disease at the age of 76.  She was born on July 16, 1946 in Bridgeport, CT. Carol was the middle child of the late Arthur and Loretta Relyea.

She graduated from New Milford High School in 1964 where she was the Varsity Basketball Manager and member of numerous clubs including debate, drama, Junior Red Cross, Latin and Spanish. Carol had a rewarding career in Quality Control for the aerospace industry, working for Barden Aerospace in Danbury, CT. She continued her aerospace career after moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1973, at Sperry Rand; Sundstrand Turbomach and retired after working 21 years for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in 2008, where she was well known and admired. She had a slogan that she was very proud to say “Do it Right”. Her favorite activities were watching movies, listening to Bob Seger, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and more, making homemade lasagna for her daughters birthdays and homemade apple pie at the holidays, she cherished her time spent with family, friends and beloved pets and gave them all unconditional love.

Carol is survived by two loving daughters, Terri Padilla of Phoenix and Darlene Beaty (Troy) of Simi Valley, CA, cherished grandchildren, Kevin Kelly of Phoenix, Branden Kelly (Melissa) of Prescott Valley and Jessica Wampler (Morgan) of Phoenix and two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Frederick Relyea; sister, Francis David; great grand daughter Serenity Beatty and Son-in-Law Robert Padilla.

She will be missed by family and numerous friends.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life in Peoria, AZ on Saturday, April 15, 2023. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Alzheimer’s research at Alzheimer’s Association https://www.alz.org/?form=alz_donate
