
JUVET, RICHARD S., JR.., Ph.D. WB7CDK
78, died in Phoenix on July 20, 2009. Born in Hollywood, CA, he retired after 25 years with Arizona State University as Professor Emeritus Analytical Chemistry and also spent 15 years teaching at University of Illinois. Listed in America’s and the World’s Who’s Who, Richard received his doctorate from UCLA. In addition to teaching, he conducted research, primarily on gas chromatography, at Cambridge University England, Ecole Polytechnique France, University of Vienna and Taiwan University. He was national chairman of the American Chemical Society’s Analytical Chemistry Division, a member of the National Academy of Science and national president of Alpha Chi Sigma, the national chemistry fraternity. He enjoyed camping, cooking, world travel, ham radio operation and playing his beloved classical Allen organ. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Elthon Juvet; daughter Victoria L. Prins Lee, sons David Allan Juvet Tricia, Stephen Mitchell Juvet and Richard Preston Juvet, and grandchildren Amy Joy Taylor and Robert Victor Taylor. A memorial of his life will be held Friday, July 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School, Phoenix. Burial will be in California.

Dick was a very caring advisor and I have only good things to say of him.
