We all loved Rodney out here in Los Angeles, and will always be thankful for the time God gave us to enjoy Rodney’s humor, kindness, and love he always had for family. Betty, our deepest condolences to you and the family. Betty, your strength, your patience and tolerance, will always be attributes that all the women that are wise will learn from. It easy to criticize, but there are not many women that I know who raised a
family as large as yours and kept a roof over their head at all times and food on the table. Betty, you are a great mom, and I know Rodney would said, “Amen” to that bro.
I always remember Rodney as is that cute, sweet, cool bartender guy from the southern buffet. Actually, now that I really think about it, he was probably the sweetest guy I ever knew. He was good friends with my late husband Jesse and it was always a pleasure to see him.
I attended 12 years of parochial school with Rodney. In our small classroom of 30 kids at St. Matthew’s, he was one of the nicest guys. During our Junior year at St. Mary’s HS, he warmly welcomed John who had just transferred from a rival HS. Our small class of about 100 students was better off knowing Rodney. I will never forget him.
It was a pleasure to know you and your brothers and sisters. Had many memorable walks and rides provided by your mom with you and siblings from St. Matthew’s grammar. Thanks for letting me hang out with you at the Southern Buffet. Wish I could have seen you one more time, Boots. I’ll see you in Heaven.
God bless all of you and give peace and strength. Big hugs to Mrs. Huguez, Robert, Cecilia and Anna. Blessings to all the family. My condolences and sympathy from Pflugerville Texas.
Forever in our hearts. Rodney always brought joy and laughter. He will forever be missed.
Rest in Peace my brother!
May God have you by his side always.
Mike “SCHULTZZ” Esparza
It’s difficult to hear that a former class mate and friend has left us. Rodney, we had some great times during high school. To the family, you are in my prayers. Cherish all the memories you had with Rodney.

What can be said about Rodney (Boots) Robles? Anyone that was fortunate enough to have known him can attest to his loving, kind, truly generous, humble, caring, thoughtful, loyal, helping- hand nature. We all remember stories about places, events, and experiences we shared with him. “Do you remember that time when…..?” Fill in the blanks. Rodney’s life was full of “Do you remember that time when…? moments. He somehow always managed to be in the middle of the action , regardless of who, what, when or where. He lived his life the way he wanted. What you see is what you get. Through thick and thin, Rodney Boots was there. Always. It has been an honor having Boots as a friend, a brother and an uncle to my children.
To Rodney: May God bless you and welcome you home. When you get to heaven, please greet and hug your nana, your dad, my dad, your brothers, my son, and the many family and friends already there and pray for your family and friends that will join you someday in God’s Kingdom. En paz descanse, mi carnal.
To the Robles-Huguez Family: May you find peace and comfort in God’s Love and Kindness.
With Love,
Gene (Gordo) Ruiz and Family
For my dear friend Rodney “Boots” Robles:

My deepest condolences to the Robles family. I also attended all 12 years of school with Rodney. I remember him as one of the nicest guys all those years.
The second you met Rodney, you knew the search was over, you met the nicest guy in the world. Always considerate, kind, loving, funny and a great party animal too. Our friend of 51 years gave us so many good memories. You may be gone but will never, ever be forgotten. Mrs. Huguez you and your family are in our prayers.
