Genoveva Moreno “Eva” Romero

Genoveva “Eva” Moreno Romero, 87 years old of Phoenix, Arizona, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 5, 2023. She was born on January 3, 1936 in Nogales, Mexico to her parents Vicente Moreno and Josephina Perraza.

Eva was married to the love of her life, Flavio Ayon Romero (May 7, 1938 – May 5, 2014) for over 60 years. The two of them met while Flavio was in the military and was stationed in Nogales, Mexico.

Eva arrived in the United States in the early 1960’s from Nogales, Mexico into California and eventually settled down in Phoenix, Arizona in 1965. She worked very hard to provide for her family, mainly as an Assembly Technician for Motorola for over 40 years. Spending time with her family and making them laugh with all of her jokes was her favorite way to spend her days. She was also known to love music, dancing, and shopping.

She was preceded in death by her husband Flavio Ayon Romero, and her daughter Maria Elena Romero who passed in 2007. Eva is survived by her 6 children; Gloria, Anna Christina, Margarita, Evangelina, Flavio Jr., and Michael, her brother Felix Moreno Sr., 19 Grandchildren, and 15+ Great Grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her!

A Visitation will take place at 10:00 A.M., immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 A.M., on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., in Phoenix. Burial will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St., in Phoenix. Condolences may be expressed at www.whitneymurphyfuneralhome.com
