
Johnson, Ronald Lee
age 78 died August 7 in Scottsdale. Ron was the long time Arizona State swim coach. He was born August 6, 1931 in Hollywood, CA. Son of the late Roy & Alys Johnson. Ron is survived by his beloved wife Priscilla Johnson and sister Donna Thompson of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by his four children Aly Breitbach, Tyia Arnoult, Marika McCue and Bowen Johnson and his three grandchildren Jacques Arnoult, Jr, Payson Johnson and Jack Johnson. Ron will be remembered for his quick wit and
humor on and off the pool deck. His life is celebrated by family and countless swimmers he coached and nurtured during his lifetime, which included coaching the Mexican Olympic Swim team from 1967-1974 and as ASU’s swim coach from 1976-1993. He was inducted into the Masters Swimming Hall of Fame in 2007 by setting more than 50 world records. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 15 at the
