
Rosario Cruz, May 20, 1920 – May 6, 2008 was born in Altar Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Cruz and mother Enemecia Villa. Rosario resided in Gila Bend, AZ. for over 30 years prior to moving to Phoenix in 1973. She was the director of the Community Action Program CAP in Gila Bend and Vista Del Camino in Scottsdale and later retired from the Arizona Department of Economic Security as a disability claims examiner. Rosario also served on the Maricopa County Area Agency on Aging, Minority Concerns Committee and worked at the Maricopa County Election Polls for over 10 years. Rosario was a loving mother with strong traditional family values who took immense pride in her U.S. Citizenship and Patriotism. Rosario is survived by, her daughters, Becky Sandoval, Martha Villa and son-in-law, Al Villa, 9 grandchildren, Louie, David, Randy Villa, Becky, Robby & Brian Franco , Rosie, Eddie Sandoval and Rowena McCoy, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Visitation from 5:00 – 9:00 P.M., With Rosary at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Whitney and Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 12, 2008 at St Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Rd., Phoenix. Interment following at St Francis Cemetery.
