Charles (Butch) E. Ross

Butch passed away at the age of 62 after a long battle with COPD. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 7, 1948 and came to Arizona in 1972. Butch proudly served two tours in Vietnam from March 1969 to March 1970. He joined the National Guard in 1976 and retired in 1992 and he continued to serve as Chaplain at the VFW Post 720. He was a loving and wonderful father to his daughter Maria. He is also survived by his sister Rita DiOrio, nephew Andrew DiOrio III and niece Tracy DiOrio. Visitation will be at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, on Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2011 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to VFW Post 720, 4853 East Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ 85018.
