
47, passed away on December 10, 2016. Michelle was born on November 1, 1969 in Washington, DC to Patricia Rast Moore and Gary J. Moore. She spent her childhood in Tempe, Arizona and Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from Tempe High School. Michelle received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She married Jim Russell and they lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Albuquerque, New Mexico prior to settling in Tempe and raising 3 wonderful children; Joe, Katie and Steve. Michelle was a teacher, working at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School and Archway Lincoln Academy. She was an active member in the community and served as Girl Scout leader for her daughter Katie’s troop for many years. Michelle loved working with children and enjoyed the outdoors and hiking. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who knew her. Michelle is survived by her mother Patricia, her father Gary, her husband Jim, her three children Joe, Katie and Steve, her sisters Jacque Picone and Kristina Dunne and seven nieces and nephews. Contributions in memory of Michelle may be made in her name to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul or the Arizona Dream Act Coalition. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 26, 2016 at Brophy Chapel, 4701 N. Central Avenue, in Phoenix. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.

Our hearts go out to you as you grieve the loss of Michelle. We have had deepest respect for Michelle’s warmth and sincerity, her intense love for her family, and her community involvement. We know that her absence will leave a great void in your lives.
