
88, passed away April 22, 2016 at Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West, AZ surrounded by many who loved him. He was born August 10, 1927 in Devine, Texas and made his home in Arizona for the past 64 years. Roque is survived by his wife Helen of 60 years; daughter, Paula; brother, Robert (Mary) Sanchez and sister, Rosie Jernigan. He is preceded in death by his parents Genaro “Henry” and Paulita Rodriguez Sanchez, sisters Romelia Sanchez, Rebecca Sanchez and “brother” Santos Rodriguez. Roque was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union. He was a machine operator and cut steel frames and doors and retired in 1990. He enjoyed creating leather belts, wallets and checkbook covers. He was a self-taught repair person who could fix anything from cars to electronics. He also did painting and carpentry work. He was always willing to help family with household repairs. Roque loved baseball and was an avid Diamondback fan. He loved to go to spring training games with his daughter. He loved to go gambling in Laughlin and Las Vegas. He enjoyed their trips to the Grand Canyon. His lifestyle kept him active until he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease several years ago. A Graveside Service will be at 11:30 AM, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Francis Cemetery, gate 1, Mausoleum. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.
