Susie was such a lovely lady. Full of life and zest for living. Always laughing, singing and dancing. That is how I shall always remember her. She sang at my 50th birthday party and it was such a blessing. Such a special individual, a special soul, who now resides in heaven. To her daughters: When birds sing, it will be her message, her way of contacting you, her way of being close to you. I share in your sadness and ask God to accompany you through these most difficult times. Our family is with you now and always.

Blood had little to do with who Susie called family. She was a mom, tia, prima, and sister to anyone and everyone. She was an unstoppable force who brought laughter and joy to everyone around her. She was someone I thought would NEVER die. I don’t have many regrets in life, but I will ALWAYS regret the last time I cancelled plans with her. I know where she is, so it’s just a short stint without her, but I know we will miss her every day we remain on this big blue dot of a planet without her. Until we meet again, my friend, we will continue to bask in your memories…your infectious laugh, the miles of shoes that matched every outfit perfectly, Spanish lessons, “chanclas de hood city”, “taco neck”, and all the countless things we laughed about over the years. Love, prayers, and comfort to Lorenzo and the rest of the family <3
