February 3, 2017 Leave A Condolence

SAVOCA,

Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister passed away at the age of 74 years old on February 1, 2017. Arlene was born in Kingston, New York on February 24, 1943 to Ralph and Lillian Lyons. She lived in Kingston until marrying the love of her life, Giuseppe Savoca, in 1961. After marrying, they moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where they began their married life. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Tia Herzog, brother Kenny Lyons and her husband of 44 years. She is survived by her daughters, Annamaria Savoca, Angela Fowble, her husband Rod; Tonina Savoca, sons Mario Savoca, his wife Carla; Carmelo Savoca; his wife Lilia and Nino Savoca. She is also survived by her grandchildren Marco Savoca, Anthony Savoca, Joseph Savoca, Sophia Fowble, Madelyn Fowble, Logan Fowble, Hailey Fowble, great grandson Carmelo Savoca, sister Bonnie Leskody, brother Ralph Lyons, Jr., sister-in-law Angelina Pagano, her husband Luciano; her sister-in-law Gaetana DeCicco and many nieces and nephews. Arlene was a special gift to the world. She was an adoring wife to her husband Giuseppe and the most wonderful and nurturing mother to her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family. She loved cooking and baking for her family, especially traditional Italian meals. Arlene loved traditional country music, watching classic movies, reading and crocheting blankets for her children and grandchildren. She was also known to enjoy playing the slot machines on occasion. She also loved taking cross-country road trips and camping with her family. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Road, Phoenix. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.
