Sending love to the great legacy Mr. Scanlon leaves behind. His influence is far reaching in The Valley. I remember as a teen Mr. Scanlon was a man of few words but carried a BIG stick. Humbled to be witness to his greatness.

Owen Michael Scanlon was a wonderful person and friend, husband and father. He was a neighbor and counselor.
He and Maryann leave eight wonderful children and grandchildren–extended families that do parents proud.
We will miss Owen most especially when the University of Notre Dame Football Team TRIUMPHS (finally).

Owen was one in a million. My only comfort in his passing is in knowing he is finally with his beloved, much missed wife.
I will miss my pen/phone pal, his stories, his jokes but mostly his friendship. I am truly blessed to have known him.
Hugs and love to all his family.

Dear Cousins and Family,
My heart goes out to all of you who love Owen. I will miss talking with him, reminiscing with him, learning from him, and laughing with him. Although I have called him Uncle Owen all my life, when I turned 50+, he asked me to dispense with Uncle, asking me to call him Owen, at this stage of our lives. So I did. Here is an ode to Owen and his beloved Maryann,
Owen and Maryann have kindly left a legacy of love
That they found each other is a rare gift from above,
At first glance on their first date they somehow knew
They were meant for each other, with some kids too,
Owen and Maryann were loving parents, busy yet fun,
They were also my godparents, their love like the sun,
Their lives well lived, with kindness and integrity trod
May they eternally be blessed in the shelter of God.
With love, Sheeran, Don, Marisha, Adi, and Devesha
PS When Don met Owen at Aunt Eileen’s funeral, afterwards he said, “What a good man.”
And it was very nice to see you again, Brian. We don’t get to see each other often, but we are family, so we are close in heart.
