Barbara Schneider 2

1939 ~ 2021

One of our Lord’s most faithful servants, Barbara Mae Schneider, an amazing Mother and an advocate of women’s rights, passed away Monday morning, June 21, 2021, at her home in Arizona. She lived a life of courage and service to our Lord.

Barbara was born on March 23, 1939 in Winona, MN to Gerald and Evelyn Schneider. Barbara was married and has 3 children, sons Michael “Mick” Cyert, Mitchell Cyert, and daughter Melinda Cyert (De Vorak).

Her work for the Veterans is a matter of care and love. Barbara was very proud and dedicated to her volunteer work at The Casa and to God. Her success was, at least in part, attributable to her strong will and her passion. Her insatiable appetite to learn and gain knowledge to help our world. She was devoted to her family, her faith, to people in need and committed to integrity and professionalism to the restaurant business.

“Go with God” “Keep calm and carry on” “Happy trails”

Barbara is survived by her sister, Marilyn Schneider-Blando, Georgia, her two sons, Michael “Mick” (Roxanne) Cyert, Coon Rapids, MN, Mitchell (Jen) Cyert, La Crescent, MN and daughter Melinda (Jeffrey) Cyert, Rollingstone, MN, grandchildren Chelsea Cyert, Arizona and Logan De Vorak, Texas. Nieces Leah Burke, Tennessee and Marie Vassil, Georgia.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at the Casa Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 East Lincoln Drive, Scottsdale, AZ. Gathering to follow at the Casa.

A Celebration of Life and Christian burial will be held in Winona, MN later this summer.

I remember a wonderful time sitting in the park with Barbara and her dad, who was visiting. That Sunday afternoon was full of laughter and fun. That’s how I will always remember Barbara. God Bless my friend!

We will miss her greatly. She was always there to listen to us and offer advise during our “Happy Hours” time. We loved her blue smiling eyes. Always a twinkle in them. Here’s to you, Barb, as we raise our martini glasses and toast to you. You touched our lives and will always be in our hearts.
