SHUTE,

Ann Opal Shute, 96, resided in Scottsdale, Arizona and passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Scottsdale Village Square. She was born on September 23, 1916 in Provo, Utah to Jacob and Pearl Diehl. Ann married H. Edward Shute on December 31, 1945 in Lordsburg, New Mexico. Ann was a graduate of Gilbert High School, extended her education in Business College, and was honored for her excellent work by the U.S. Government recruiting offices. She resided in Phoenix and her hobbies included her love of crafting, jewelry making, and painting flowers and of course she had a great sense of humor. She is survived by her sister Cleone Hastings of Medford, Oregon; niece Elaine Koester and husband Jim of Kingwood, Texas; great niece Angie Shaw and husband Jeff of Milwaukie, Oregon; great nephew Zach Koester, great niece Katie Theaux and husband Nathan of Dallas, Texas; nephew in-law Bob Reinke of Fort Klamath, Oregon; long time neighbors and friends as well. She was preceded in death by her spouse Ed Shute in July of 1970 and niece Cheryl Reinke in June of 2002. Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12noon, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road followed by a Graveside Service at 1:00pm, Saturday, January 5th at Mesa City Cemetery, 1212 N. Center Street, Mesa.
