SKOUBES, CATHERINE ANTOINETTE

January 12, 2018 Leave A Condolence

Catherine Skoubes Obit photo 2

Catherine Antoinette Skoubes (Aunt Kay), 87 of Scottsdale passed away on January 8, 2017. Catherine was born on August 12, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to George and Catherine Skoubes. After Catherine’s mother’s death, her Aunt Irene became a huge influence in her life helping to raise her and mold her into the person she would become. She moved to Arizona in 1968 and began her career with Diamond Department Stores, where she eventually worked her way to being their assistant controller before leaving to start her own accounting practice. Catherine loved fashion and took great pride in her appearance. Her family will always remember her love for animals, her beautiful singing voice and how much she enjoyed watching figure skating. She was an avid cook and loved to entertain her friends and family. There are no words to truly describe how much she loved her family and how much her family loved their Aunt Kay and will miss her. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister MaryAnn Chiros and brother Alex Skoubes. Catherine is survived by her niece Catherine (Quentin) Keyser and their children, Nicholas, Elizabeth and David Keyser; niece Catherine Hall and her children Christopher and Jonathon Hall. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a Trisagion service at 7:00 P.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd. Phoenix. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 10:00 A.M., at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1973 E. Maryland, Phoenix. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix. Family suggests contribution be made in her memory to the Arizona Humane Society.
