
Sandra Marie Stanley, age 87 of Phoenix, AZ passed away peacefully on May 9, 2023. Beloved wife of the late David Stanley and loving mother of her surviving four sons: Rick (Ellen) Greenville, SC; Mike (Linda) Phoenix, AZ; Greg (Rachiel) Escondido, CA; Scott (Kerry) Glendale, AZ., 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. Sisters Lynda Miller and Patricia Hall Pasco (Stephen). She is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Dorothy Hinz, her brother William “Bill” Hinz, and her son William “Bill” Stanley.
Sandra was born in Erie, PA and moved to Phoenix when she was 12. She graduated from Glendale High School, worked at Mountain Bell Phone Co. as a clerk. After she married her beloved David, they raised their family of 5 sons in Scottsdale, before moving to Tempe. She was then promoted to motherhood and to the family business “Stanley’s Service Center, Inc.”, as office manager. She was the best chef, taxi driver, school nurse, school luncheon mom, and enjoyed entertaining at her home with many large group functions and weekly family nights regularly. She especially loved going to bingo, cheering on their favorite college teams ND & Navy, traveling the world with David to places like Spain, Canada, Japan, a cruise down the Panama Canal, and many trips throughout the USA and overseas visiting their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the Health Care Center at Friendship Village in Tempe and Hospice of the Valley for their amazing care and compassion. Southern Ave., Tempe, AZ 85282.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, with a Rosary at 4:30 pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., in Phoenix. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 11:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 E. Libra Dr., in Tempe. Burial to follow at Green Acres Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Rd., in Scottsdale.

Sandra, you are in a better place in heaven watching over us. I remembered your generosity in many ways, your laughter, your smile, your positive vise and you had a heart of gold.
