STEGMAN, NANCY HINE

April 17, 2023 9 Condolences

Nancy Stegman 2

A life well lived, our loving mother, Nancy Hine Stegman, nee Niemann, passed away, peacefully under hospice care at the age of 86 in Scottsdale, AZ on April 15, 2023.

Nancy was born on December 13, 1936, the only child of John and Dorothy Niemann. She attended Convent of the Sacred Heart on Sheridan Road and Northwestern University in Evanston, IL where she developed a love for reading and music and graduated with a degree in elementary education. She met her husband, Russell Stegman, through friends at the Shubert theatre in Chicago and they were married in 1959. She was a retired elementary teacher and was active in the Sierra club, Alliance Francaise of Greater Phoenix, and various book and music clubs.

Nancy was a devoted mother and grandmother; she had a kind and gentle spirit and was known for her positive outlook on life. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends, often hosting large family and friend gatherings. A warm smile for all and a sunny disposition. She was gracious and good humored to the end.

Nancy is survived by her wonderful children: Julie Turner of Tulsa, OK, and Doug Stegman of Phoenix, AZ. Proud grandmother of Kate and Molly Stegman, and Russ and Sarah Turner and many dear cousins and close friends. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Russel Stegman, and her son-in-law, Ernest Turner.

Nancy’s unwavering faith of God’s love will continue to grow and live on by all those whom she loved and is loved by. She will be dearly missed and always be in our hearts.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Joanne and Rhea for their devoted caregiving and friendship.

There will be a memorial service held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Best Friends Animal Society. Condolences may be expressed at www.whitneymurphyfuneralhome.com

My deepest sympathy to all of you. Russ was a groomsman in my wedding. I spent happy days with him and Nancy when our kids were young
