Sue Stockton, 83 of Phoenix passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Sue was born in Tempe, AZ to Hugh and Juna McCreary. Sue graduated from North High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Arizona State University. While at ASU she joined the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and forged lifelong friendships with her fellow sisters. She also met her soulmate and love of her life at ASU, Phil Stockton, and they were married shortly thereafter.
Phil and Sue were married for 63 years and together they raised three children, Eddie, Cindy and Christy. Sue was a 3rd grade teacher and physical education teacher for many years in the Washington School District until retiring. Sue loved to travel, play golf and most of all to spoil her grandchildren. She affectionally was known to all of them as Mouse. Mouse and Papa never failed to attend all of their grandkids extracurricular activities and be supportive. She always had a kind and encouraging word for them.
Sue is survived by her loving husband Phil; son, Eddie Stockton; daughters, Cindy Stockton and Christy Asta; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private family Memorial Service will be held at 10AM on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix.
