Rene Marie Stover
Rene Marie Stover, 60, of Chandler, passed away November 20, 2021. She was born September 29, 1961, to Sylvia and Dean Lewellen at Hill Air Force Base, Ogden Utah. Raised as an air force brat, her family moved around the states and overseas always returning to Arizona. Rene attended McClintock High School in Tempe Arizona. After graduation, Rene entered the Marine Corps and became a true patriot and veteran to our country.
A devoted mother and wife, Rene raised her three children while working at the VA Hospital for veteran assistance. Volunteering countless hours to support veterans here in Arizona. Rene also worked to send Vietnam veterans to visit the memorial wall in Washington DC.
Rene was a member of American Legion Post 35 in Chandler. She served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary, Junior Vice Commander and a member of the eboard committee for the post. She worked tirelessly to raise money to replace the aged sign out in front of the post. She also worked to raise funds for many different veteran causes and events. Her tamale Christmas parties were epic. Rene served this country and her fellow service men and women with the highest respect and honor. She will be deeply missed.
Rene is survived by her husband Dennis Stover, her sons Nicholas of Wisconsin, Derrick Rimarcik of Chandler, daughter Ashley Maria Rimarcik (Trevor Richman) and grandson Max Richman of Tempe , her father Dean Lewellen of Mesa, sisters Ava Fortin (Eric) of Apple Valley CA, Kimberly Feldhake (Marty) of Flagstaff as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. Rene was preceded in death by her mother Sylvia Lewellen, brother Deano Lewellen and sister Virginia Lewellen.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with a rosary at 6:00pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 E Libra Drive, Tempe. Interment to follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ.
