
Lt. Col. George Ernest Tanguy II was born July 10, 1947 in Syracuse, NY to George and Dolly (Suhr) Tanguy. He was a graduate of Arcadia High School (1965), earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Arizona State University (1969) and received his commission as a second lieutenant from the U.S. Army Engineer School, Ft. Belvoir, VA (1970). George proudly served his country and retired with 40 years of federal service in 2014. On May 23, 2017, George was called home by the Lord for a higher purpose. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brothers Richard Tanguy and Charles Tanguy, his sisters Laura Lathrop (husband Kent), Margaret Hoy (husband Tom), his daughter Jennifer Pauly (husband Daniel), his son George E. Tanguy III (fiancé Chelsea), and granddaughters Danielle Shillington and Rennes Pauly. Graveside Service with Military Honors will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 9th, 2017 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.
