On February 25, 2021, Heaven gained an incredibly beautiful angel. Born February 17, 1946, in Phoenix, AZ. Irene was a jack-of-all-trades. She worked as a beautician, a social worker, accident investigator for the Phoenix Police Department, and worked for the Phoenix Aviation Department as an Operations Assistant. Irene retired from the City of Phoenix after a very distinguished 34-year career.
Mom was a very humble woman who lived and breathed for her family. She touched many lives and always found the best in everyone. Mom taught us how to be strong and one of the lessons she taught and instilled in us was to “Always do the right thing no matter how difficult.”
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Juan J., and Maria de Jesus Romero. She is survived by her husband Fernando M. Carrillo, her only daughter; Veronica R., her beloved sons; Eric W. and Matthew G., her beautiful grandchildren; Shanice Littleton, Dakotah This, Vincent Tracy, Isabella Tracy, Izaac Thiss, Nathaniel Thiss, Noah Thiss, Valentino Lopez-Thiss, great grandson; Jace, her sisters; Connie Heinsohn, Victoria Romero and Juanita Romero Thompson, nieces; Yogi Roenser and Bernadette Kunkle, and nephews; Michael Molinar and Alexander Thompson.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 East Indian School Road, Phoenix. Interment to follow at St. Francis Cemetery. Due to COVID 19 there will be limited space for the services and COVID restrictions will be strictly adhered to. Facemasks are required.
Although we can no longer hold her hand, we can still cherish and caress her beautiful soul forever. Condolences may be expressed at www.whitneymurphyfuneralhome.com

Never Can Say Goodbye…..
You never said, “I’m leaving.” You never said goodbye.
You were gone before I knew it and only God knows why…
It broke my heart to lose you but you did not go alone.
For a part of me went with you, the day God took you home.
Rest in Peace Dear Sister, until we meet again……
