JoAnna, Since you and I re-connected, I didn’t ever have the opportunity to meet Sabas, but I could tell that he was a great and loving husband. I could see how much you two loved each other. My thoughts are prayers are with you and his family during this time. I am here for you always. XoXoXoXo’s.

I met Sabas when my brother Smiley brought him to our house and i remember he was this big guy, loud, funny as all heck and had the most warm smile:) My mom loved Sabas. He would walk into a room and this energy would follow him. The life of the room! He was going to visit us this weekend but God had other plans. So i continue to remember a great guy, husband, father, son, brother… Every once in awhile I would see him when he came around and he always was the same. He was geniune person. What you see is what you get. He kept it real! As i remmeber him my heart hurts for his wife and his family. I know it will be very difficult for them but i pray that the Lord wrap his arms around them and comforts them. To remember that they had a blessed time on earth with Sabas in their life and I’m sure he’s upstairs making the angels laugh and sing. I pray his memories will one day make you smile instead of cry.. from missing him dearly.. until that day, God Bless you.

Joann, I thank you for letting all his friends be apart of your plans. I can remember him just as if were yesterday his little goofy laugh he use to do and make us all crack up. He makes things brighter when he is around, I know God had a plan for him he was ready to call him home he has done his job here. Now the lord requires him to take rest in his mighty Kingdom. He has left his Angles here to continue to be strong and trust in the Lord. I miss him hes like a brother to me, although I never get to see him I thought of him time to time. We at CCHS are like a BIG FAMILY we all loved him and will miss him dearly. God Bless you and your Loved ones may he give you all peace in your hearts. Hey Slabbas I see you when I get their bud, soon we will all join you.

Yo Cuz
Thank you for being a cousin and a friend
We traveled down the road and back again
Your Heart is True,
Your a pal and a great cousin too
My hat is off, as i stand up and take a bow
Thank you for being a cousin and a friend
I hoped we both would get older
With walking canes and hair of grey
I have no fear that your no longer here
As you and the lord now stand near
Now its his turn to say your name
And ask to be your friend
Thank you for being a friend Cuz,
“I Luv You Man”
We had some good times Cuz, Good memories.

Prieto was one of a kind even though I didn’t spend a lot of time around him he was one cousin you will never forget.Once you heard that loud voice approach you knew it was him :-).He always had everyone laughing I mean everyone :-). He will be missed , but he will be there in spirit. My condolence to Tia Mary, Frankie,Nina , the twins and all his nieces and nephews. Also his wife and children. Here is a poem for his memory to all . God Bless and my God be with you all through this loss.

I will always remember Sabas Tovar as the funny guy from school who was friendly to everyone. He was part of the popular crowd at Carl Hayden but was never arrogant or stuck up. He was a lot of fun and was always laughing. During the football team’s toga party, he was one of the few who wore a toga. That’s why he was voted Class of ’84 Craziest Guy. I will miss his Facebook postings basically telling everyone to get up, enjoy life and to give him an AMEN. When I asked him if he was having a “come to Jesus moment”, he responded, “Everyday!” God bless him. We will miss you dear friend.
