Humberto Trujillo

Humberto “Junior” Trujillo gently slipped into Heaven on July 15, 2020. Junior was born in Phoenix, Arizona on September 26, 1958 to Humberto and Santa Iniguez Trujillo. He attended Edison Elementary School and graduated from East High School with the class of 1977. Junior was an avid athlete excelling in football, basketball, and baseball throughout his childhood. He continued his athletic achievements in football at Phoenix College and basketball and softball joining various men’s leagues throughout adulthood. “Coach” may have been his most cherished title, committing 10+ years to coaching youth sports at St. Agnes Catholic School and Creighton’s Men’s Club. In his down time, he could be found camping, fishing, and hunting with his son, best friends, or grandchildren! Junior joined the United States Post Office in September 1989 and quickly rose through the ranks reaching his goal of Postmaster of Phoenix in 2015.

Junior was preceded in Heaven by his parents Humberto Trujillo & Santa Serrato, nephew Eric Christopher Perez, many beloved Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. He is survived by his two greatest loves of his life, his dogs Olivia and Pebbles, his sisters Cecilia Chavez (Robert), Kimberly Perez (Juan), Becky Martinez (Raul) & brother Noel Serrato (Gloria), 4 children Mikayla Galindo (David), Junebug Trujillo (Molly), Nicole Rideau (Aaron), Amber Bencomo, and 8 grandchildren Jaxon Rideau, Sean Trujillo, Michele Galindo, Zoe Rideau, David Galindo, Cooper Trujillo, Tyson Trujillo, Adelynn Trujillo.

As kids,we lived together we fought,we laughed,we cried. We did not always show the love, that we both had inside. We shared our dreams and plans, And some secrets too, All the memories we share, Is what bonds me now to you. We grew to to find we have a love that is very strong today, It’s a Love shared by our family that will never fade away. You are my brother not by choice but by by the nature of our birth. Dear family and friends of Junior Trujillo
I am a REDRESS mediator with the US Postal Service and had the pleasure of working with Junior on many mediations over the years. He always treated me with respect and we got along great. Both of us used humor to defuse situations. Junior always called me “Perry Mason” because I am a lawyer-mediator. We always had a laugh and a firm handshake when the mediation was done.
    I will miss him greatly.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time.

I just want to extend my deepest thoughts for the Trujillo Family. Junior was one of the best cousins I had the pleasure of being around during my youth.
I would always ask people who worked at the post office if they knew him when I was making deliveries to the post offices in Ahwatukee. Then I would tell them to unload my truck now or I would tell them I’m going to “rat” on them to Junior if they didn’t. lol

    Dear Family,
We were so grateful for Junior doing our dad’s (his uncle Manual) eulogy and to have had him in our lives. Junior no doubt is smiling down from heaven right now and so proud of the words spoken by his family members at his service . You all did such a beautiful tribute. I’m so thankful I was able to view it on facetime. Such a great loss, you are all in my prayers through this most difficult time. With Love, Peggy (Huguez) HUG-U-E-Z

Oh Junior, my dear friend, I am so saddened the our Lord has called you home so early. Every memory I have from the shared days at East High make me smile. You were upbeat, caring and fun – all which endeared you more to those who were able to call you friend (which were a lot of us).
I am proud of your hard work, success and your wonderful family- you were a lucky man with a full life, surrounded by love and much happiness. You will be forever missed, there is more joy in Heaven since your arrival.
    Much love,
    Angie Quaranta

So sad to lose a friend and fellow Edison Eagle. I knew Jr. since 4th grade at Garfield school. Even though we lost touch through the years I was still very proud of his accomplishments. Rest in Peace.

I know it is late , but I also didn’t know anything about Junior passing till the 1st part of December. My mailman told me when he and I was talking about me working for the post office. I am so sorry to hear about Junior. I started working as a Christmas helper in December of 1997 and went into regular in Janurary of 1998. I worked at the Dillert warehouse there in Tempe. I worked for Junior for one year and to me he was the best boss I could have ever had. That Christmas of 1998 I wear a Christmas hat and he was always saying get that stupid thing off. lol So I bought one and gave it to him that Christmas Eve. So I know this is late in sending my sympathy but still I just want to say I am so sorry and you had the best dad ever. Junior will always remain in my heart. Gary
