TRUJILLO, JOSEFINA
Josefina Trujillo, also lovingly known as, Josie, Jo, Mama Jo, and Cha Cha, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 13th, 2022 surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband Guy Trujillo; three sons, Paul, Marty, and Mike (Claudia); two sisters, Micki (Manuel) and Juanita (Gilbert); and six grandchildren, Kristina (Katrina), Briana (Sara), Dalton, Michael J, Cortez and Azul. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Josie was born in Miami, Arizona on August 23rd, 1943, to Paula and José Santellanes. It was here that she grew strong roots that set the foundation for her life and her family. Josie graduated from Miami High School in 1961, then attended business college. She was a gifted typist which led her to a career as an administrative assistant, working for Motorola for 33 years before retiring in 1999. Josie enjoyed plays at Gammage, lunches at the Phoenix Zoo and dances on New Year’s. She weaved her love of life into every experience she had and every person she met.
On Saturday, September 3rd, at 10:30 am, words of remembrance will be shared at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ.

Jo was a wonderful woman and will be missed.
Another link to the past has gone; Josie and I were only one week apart or so in birth, I knew her since her Family had a small store almost directly across from Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament on Sullivan Street. My Family lived a few houses up the street, our parents knew one another and Josie and I would play while they gossiped. Now another space has appeared within the circle of our friends and classmates. Josie has taken her place amongst those who predeceased her, they are welcoming her with grace and love. All I ask is we hold remembrance of her until we meet again, as it is said in in Hawaiian, “Aloha ‘oe a hui kakou”….
