“Unfading will be his memory; through all generations his name will live.”
Atlee Allen Tucker Jr., 70, passed from this life to everlasting life on August 10, 2022, with his wife Carmen by his side. Allen was born in Tempe, AZ, to Grace and Atlee Tucker Sr. (deceased) on November 24, 1951. Raised in South Phoenix, he attended St. Catherine School along with his brothers Robert and Mark (both deceased) and made many life-long friends. Allen graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1969. “Once a Knight, always a Knight!” Soon after he joined the Arizona Army National Guard and proudly served for 22 years and retired Master Sergeant HHB 1 Bn 180 FA. Allen joined the U.S. Postal Service in 1977, where he was a courteous and conscientious Mail Carrier for 39 years. He was admired by his fellow carriers and customers alike. He was very proud of his military and postal service. But his greatest achievement and joy was his family. Allen and Carmen (Powers) were married for 48 years, raised three wonderful children, David (Noelle), Kathleen (Toby), and Jeff (Donna). We were blessed with 8 grandchildren, Robert (Amy), Madelin, Lucia, Steven, Andrew, Brody, Henry and Isabel, and one great-grand daughter Ivory. Although we are deeply saddened by his passing, we are so grateful for the happy home he provided. His kindness and gentle manner will continue to be an example for us.
“When a man walks in integrity and justice, happy are his children after him.” (Prov 20:7)

Another kid from our St. Catherine’s and St. Mary’s family has passed. I met him in the very early 1960’s growing up in the best neighborhood. Surprisingly, my wife Barbara, thought of him several weeks ago while praying the daily rosary. No doubt a message from our Lord to pray for him daily. Our gentle giant as a kid is now at the table of our Lord with family and friends. His legacy will be everlasting and carried on with his children.

I did not know Al but because of Carmelita, I knew of him and prayed for him. Al, you had to be quite the gentleman to capture the heart on this women/lady who must have loved you dearly; she faithfully and lovingly cared for you. That is true love, you too were so blessed to have known that level of love. RIP Al, Carmen will one day be reunited with you, until then know she has the support of those who love and respect her. Sincerely, Veronica French (aka Ronni)

Condolences to “Big Al’s” family. I carried with Al at Arcadia from 1981 to 2004 . Al, like me, had the same route for our entire careers. He helped me learn the rope when I first joined and I carried his route many times over the years when he was not available and his customers loved him. We shared a mutual military bond over the years. He was our union rep for a long time and had our best interests at heart. May he be at peace.

To Al’s family, I am sending my condolences to you on the loss of a great guy. I supervised Al for a few years and still kept in touch with him through my husband Jon who also worked with him for many years. He was always a friendly and genuine person. I know your sorrow as Jon passed a couple of weeks ago. I’m sure heaven is loving the two new angels they have gained.
