56, of Phoenix passed away peacefully on May 2, 2012. Michael was born on October 14, 1955. An eighth generation Phoenician, he was a graduate of West High School. His life’s work was running and helping to expand the family restaurant, Los Compadres. In recent years, he was a great comfort to his family after his mother’s passing. A voracious reader, he maintained a lifelong thirst for knowledge and was a source of joy to those around him. Michael is survived by his son & grandson, Justin & Daniel Valdivia of Portland, OR; daughter Amelia Lovatt of Manchester U.K.; twin sister Lucille (Kimball) Webb; brothers Dan (Jan), David (Anne), and Richard (Jackie) Valdivia; father Danny (Hortencia) Valdivia. He also left behind a very large and wonderful extended family. He was preceded in death by his loving mother Lucia Valdivia. A Memorial Service will be held at 10am, Thursday, May 10th at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
