VANDEVENTER, ROBERTA “BOBBE” JUNE

February 28, 2023 Leave A Condolence

0 1

Roberta “Bobbe” June Vandeventer, our beautiful creative loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2023, surrounded by her forever grateful and ever-growing family. She was preceded in death but her husband, Norman Vandeventer, of 42 years and survived by their children, grandchildren, and extended family.

The core of Bobbe’s true heart and soul was her unwavering faith in Jesus. Church was always her happy place: the message, music, and people. She was fascinated by all of God’s creations and gifts of the Earth: mountains, valleys, deserts, beaches, sunsets, rainbows, animals, and all plants and flowers.

Motherhood was her cherished blessing from God. Her greatest joy was being fully involved in the upbringing of her children and grandchildren.

She was delighted to share her love for heaven and earth with family, friends, and neighbors wherever she lived, from West Texas, to Oklahoma, to Louisiana, to Missouri, to Arizona, and of course Hawaii.

It is no wonder that Lanikai Beach became a destination where she felt ever blessed to live and experience the islands’ beauty. One of Bobbe’s favorite sayings was “Bloom where you’re planted,” and with every hike, smell, and flavor, she soaked it all in.

With enthusiasm and love, she delved in with talent and success into clothing design and construction, home decorating, furniture refinishing, painting, landscaping, pottery, macramé, stained-glass, horticulture, cooking, baking, animal husbandry, and can’t leave out her passion, quilting! Whew.

Family and friends are celebrating Bobbe’s amazing 89 years of life on March 4th, 2023, at 11:30 in Phoenix at the First Christian Church, with Hawaiian attire reception following. Donations can be made to the Arizona Human Society in Bobbe’s name.

We will all miss her kind smile and warm presence but will lovingly carry her in our hearts until we meet again.

Donations can be made to the Arizona Humane Society in Bobbe Vandeventer’s name at:
