Mary L. Verdugo
1938-2022
Mary L. Verdugo, our mother and grandmother, passed away on March 30, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Verdugo, to whom she was married for 63 years. Mary, aka Nana Mary, worked in the early years but became a homemaker and then Nana to her grandchildren/great grandchildren. She proudly told stories about raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nana’s passing has left us with such a void, but we will feel her love always.
Nana Mary is survived by her children: Christine Verdugo, Catherine Varner (Bruce), Robert Verdugo, and Stephen Verdugo (Melanie); grandchildren: Ashley King (Patrick), Robert Benge (Audrey), Bianca Martich (Elliot), Gabriel Santistevan, Belen Santistevan, Ty Verdugo, Brittney Verdugo, Stefan Verdugo, Nicholas Verdugo, and Bella Verdugo; great grandchildren: Dabney, Eva, William Robert Benge, and Nora King; and her brother: Ellis Perkins (Maria). Mary is preceded in death by her siblings Shirley and Robert Wayne Perkins.
A Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00AM with Funeral Service beginning at 11:00AM on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Condolences may be expressed at www.whitneymurphyfuneralhome.com
