Marie C Vitale

Vitale, Marie C. “Mimi” aged 95, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2012 surrounded by her family, and is re-united with her loving husband James who passed in 2007. Marie had a loving heart and was an adoring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Happiness to her was big family gatherings, dinners, and enjoying her grandchildren. Marie was born in Sandusky, Ohio on January 14, 1917 to Mary and Gustavo Giusti. Her two sisters, Rose Del Piombo and Velma Giusti (both deceased) moved to Arizona in the late 1940s and started the family move from the east to the west. After her marriage to James, she lived in Wyandotte, Michigan. They loved spending winters in Arizona, where they eventually retired, living in Scottsdale. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Kracht (Jeffrey), her grandsons James (Cristin) and Michael (Jessica) and her great granddaughters Bailey and Paige (who loved Mimi with all their heart), as well many nieces (including Sylvia Benson who lived next door for many years and was always there for Auntie Marie), nephews and other loving relatives and friends both near and far away. Marie will always have a place in each of our hearts, with her unforgettable generosity and unconditional love. She will always be our guardian angel! Visitation will be from 6-8pm, with a Rosary at 7pm, Tuesday, April 24, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be private. In lieu of flowers a donation in Marie’s name can be made to Infinity Hospice Care, 5110 N 40th St, Phoenix AZ 85018. A special thank you to the wonderful staff that took care of her with love and caring during the past year.
